Is Summer The Best Time Or Worst Time To Build A Downline? by David Ledoux
A groundhog fell in the pool yesterday.
Actually, it was more of a deliberate leap than a jump. It had the appearance
of a graceful ballerina that had binged for too long on Ding-dongs, Flakies, and
Crisco sandwiches.
Falia and I were up at the country home and it was a sweltering 32 C (about
90F). We watched as a young woodchuck, about the size of a big cat, came
sauntering onto the patio, and jumped down on the second step of the swimming
pool. It splashed around for a second, then crawled out and shook itself like a
dog. Spray everywhere!
This was the same rodent that had been eating Falia's garden. She hissed at
it, but to no effect. It stared, blinked twice, turned its butt towards us, and
started to meander off. Falia growled at it, and it went from a slow lumbering
gait to a slighter quicker one. It turned once more to look at us, as if to say,
"Thanks for the swim, I'm much cooler now!" and wandered off into the
bush.
Needless to say, summer is here! (sorry to my mates in Australia, I know, I
know it's winter. But please....your version of winter is like a sunny day
here!)
Summer is a great time to make excuses NOT to do your business. We can invent
all sorts of great reasons to avoid net-WORK marketing for one more day.
"People aren't home, they're at the cottage!"
"No one wants to stay inside and make phone calls!"
"It's too sunny, I'll wait until dark!"
"It's too dark, I'll wait until morning!"
"Do these pants make my butt look big?"
But you can't spend excuses. You can't eat an excuse sandwich. All you can do
is look backwards in time and wish you had made the effort. October seems filled
with networkers who wished they had paid the price and worker harder in the
summer.
It's all about marketing. In the summer, the better marketer wins. Yes, you
may have to call people more frequently and leave better, more urgent messages.
You may have to be patient. You may have to have even better follow-up. But you
are facing less competition. Less messages in the marketplace.
I love building downlines in the summer!
QUESTION: Are you going to make excuses or money this summer?
QUESTION: Who in your downline feels the same way?
QUESTION: How can you create more EXCITEMENT in your team this month?
Just do it. You'll thank me in October!
I appreciate you.
